Surface Sealing
A protective seal applied once a surface is clean, repaired and dry.
Sealing fills the pores so dirt, oil and water sit on the surface rather than soaking in. On block paving it also binds the joint sand, which is where most of the practical benefit comes from.
It is the last step, not a shortcut. Sealing over dirt, damp or failed pointing locks the problem in and the finish fails early.
