Re-Pointing
Failed mortar in walls and paving cut out and replaced.
Pointing is the sacrificial part of any masonry. It is meant to fail before the brick or stone does, and once it has, the wall is open to water.
The mix matters more than most people realise. Cement mortar on an old lime-built wall traps moisture and pushes the damage into the stone itself, which is far harder to put right.
The mix has to match
Hard cement pointing on a soft old wall causes more damage than it prevents. On older buildings this needs a lime mix.
