Re-Sanding Block Paving
Kiln dried sand worked back into the joints after cleaning.
The sand in block paving joints is structural. It locks the blocks against each other and stops them shifting under load. Once it washes out, the blocks move, the surface becomes uneven and weeds take hold.
After cleaning we work fresh kiln dried sand into every joint. This is the step that decides whether a cleaned driveway stays good or deteriorates again quickly.
It has to be dry
Sand will not travel into damp joints. Re-sanding is done once the paving has properly dried, which sometimes means a return visit.
