Decking Cleaning
Grey, slippery decking cleaned back to bare timber.
Decking goes grey because UV breaks down the surface fibres, and green because algae colonises what is left. The green is the dangerous part: wet decking with algae on it is one of the most slippery surfaces around a house.
Cleaned at a pressure the timber will take, working with the grain. Too much pressure raises the fibres and leaves a furry surface that holds dirt worse than before.
Treat it afterwards
Bare clean timber weathers again quickly. Oiling or staining once dry is what makes the work last more than a season.
